ROBIN A. HASKELL

Biography

A native of California, I attended the University of California, Berkeley and graduated from the University of Southern California.  I was introduced to oil painting as a student at USC.  After graduating from college, I taught art in the elementary school for six years.

My art education has included attending classes and workshops at the Alexander School of Painting in San Diego, Otis Art Institute and with the following individuals:   Vincent Farrell, Joseph Mendez, Frank Serrano, Ken Auster, Jeff Horn, Ray Roberts, Paula Bacinski and Jove Wang.

The Lunada Bay Homeowners Association commissioned my work for their annual awards programs from 2005 through 2011.  Numerous friends in the Palos Verdes area, Montecito and Hawaii have commissioned my work.  I was honored to receive first place recognition for one of my paintings in Newport Beach.

My works have been exhibited and offered for sale at the Blinn House in Pasadena, Altadena Town and Country Club (both for the California Art Club), Les Jolis Tresors Gallery, Palos Verdes Art Center and the Artists’ Studio Gallery (Palos Verdes). The Laguna Plein Air Painters selected one of my paintings for their show at the Randy Higbee Gallery in Costa Mesa.

Today, I enjoy plein air painting and doing larger works in my studio in Palos Verdes.  I am an associate painter of the California Art Club, a member of the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and a member of Oil Painters of America.  Painting landscapes and seascapes in oils, I am dedicated to the preservation of representational fine art.
